Mystics Aim for the Stars But Fall Short

There have been few moments in my life, when I have been speechless. When I just don't know what to say... well, this is not one of those times but it is getting close. How many times can I acknowledge the talent on the Mystics team. How many times can I say that the Mystics need to work on their field goal percentage? How many times can I say that we need to develop a perimeter and 3 pt shot plays to accelerate points of the board? In search of this answer, I ask the high school and college ballers that were in my section. Here are some quotes from them..

• "They need work on the outside jumpers, they should focus on getting in the paint"


• "Don't they have that girl who shoots nothin but 3 pt shots"

As for me, I look to the coaching. The scoring continues to be a problem but with Becky Hammon out, I expected the Mystics to kill on defense and it did not happen. All the talent in the world doesn't work without leadership and strategy.
