Nelly - Just A Dream (And a Pretty Damn Good One!)

How can I not support this brother from the "Show Me". This is a totally different side to my boy. Admittedly, I am a Nelly fan and thanks to some friends who own a hot night spot in St. Louis, I have partied with him and his crew. (Real funny story about how Murphy Lee went on a mission one New Year's to get me drunk....must attend HH24BB to get that story.) Anyway, one thing I love about Nelly is that he is true to who he is and doesn't try to stay in the stereotypical rapper mode. This song is not only touching and heartfelt, it is hot! LOVE IT (and ya know I am not a touchy/feely type).

By the way, if you don't love the effect with the eye, when it shatters....well damn. I got nothin for you.

Enjoy.

Google Saves My Life and My Wallet....Again!!!!

Like you,  I am in constant search of a solution to my nagging phone issues, that plague me while trying to keep up with work, family and friends.  Frankly, between my cell, home and work phones, I just want to throw them out the frickin window!!!  I don't know if you have these issues, but here are mine:

MY ISSUES
  •  First issue, voice mail.  I don't know about you but I am really bad at checking voice mail.  I manage to check it on my cell. At least once a week, I will try to remember to check my voicemail at my office. But if the only number you have is my home number, good luck ever reaching me or me EVER listening to your message.  I have even subscribed to the web/email voice notification that allows you play messages via the web.  Think that has help..HELL NO.
    • Google Voice Solution:  Voicemail sent to you via email or text using voice to text technology.  So, now I get my voicemail instantly. It is fabulous.
  • Second issue I have businesses in both Kansas City and Washington DC.   Currently I have a cell phone with "KC" area code (and I always will, I have had this # for more than 10 years) but most of my business and  life happens in "DC".  Sometimes, the DC folks are put off by calling a "KC" phone number.
    • Google Voice Solution:  Allows you to choose the area code of your google #.  In fact, you can even choose the numbers you want in your number, utilizing the option to have the phone numbers spell stuff.  I was able to choose an option that has the same last four digits as my cell phone.  Sweet.  Easy for me and everyone else.
  • Third issue,  my cell phone does not have unlimited battery power, I am not at home or in my office all the time and it is important for me to make sure that I am available to them, be it family, clients or friends.  And it is too much hassle to keep track of a bunch of different numbers for one person (and let's face it, I love them, but some of my people in my world are trifilin').
    • Google Voice Solution: 1 phone number that will ring me everywhere I am . Not only will the number find me, it will ring all of my phone as the same time, so when my cousin goes to jail, I can get the call to pick up her kids (lol, just kidding...not really)
  • Final issue (well I have more but I am getting tired of typing and my hair is almost done), I don't want some people to find me.  Random people who have my number, telemarketers and, let's be honest, sometimes our friends and family. (Ya know I luv ya'll, but it is the truth.) Another honesty point, sometimes we just don't feel like being bothered.
    • Google Voice Solution:  Call ID, Call Screening and, the best ever, Call Grouping.  Not need to explain Call ID and Screening, if ya don't know what that stuff is then you are not ready for Google Voice anyway.  But Call Grouping is the greatest; it allows you to designate indivdually or as part of a group who can reach you, how they reach you and when they can reach you.  Basically, it puts you in control of your phone. Finally.... I get to control something!!!!
Okay, that's it.  That's all for now.  Oh crap....I forgot the best part....All of these services and many more are FREE.....LOVE GOOGLE ( you know if apple came out with this, it would cost ).   This is going to allow me to cut my phone bill by about $50 bucks a month.  Yea..me.  Yea.. Google.

Here's the link so you can check it out for yourself.  http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html

Cut Energy Cost, Get A Blanket...In Theory

Occasionally (well, in truth, I have them everyday), you have these moments where you come face to face with who you are as a person. In these moments the fantasy of who you are in your mind is shattered my the reality of who are in reality and you can run from it no more.  Today was my day to stop running.

In general, I consider myself to be a pretty progressive person. Ok, I'm not an environmentalist, but I recycle my paper and plastics; regularly take public transit or car pool (ok, maybe I do this because I hate to drive);  actively seek out products in eco-friendly containers and, even my BFF is an urban environmentalist.   In my mind, I look for small thing to save the planet that will make a big impact.

But, last night, when the temperature dipped below 72°, I did as I could hear my BFF's voice in my head suggesting, "pull on warmer clothes, grab and extra blanket and put on some socks."   So, when I got home to my cold house, I dutifully pulled on my sweats, unpacked my extra blanket and pulled on my favorite socks and thought,  "Yeah, this could work!"

...10 minutes later, I got out of bed and turn on the heat.  Truth is I am not really a "suffer" for the cause kinda girl (at least not when my nose is cold).

IPad Alternative for PC Users

Are you a PC user and mad that you are not on the "cool kids" Apple bandwagon? To secretly envy the Ipad users for their postablity and cool touch screen? Not to worry. Google has your answer with the Android Tablet PC. Best news, is that it is only $145. All this and it has a camera and USB port, thus fixing the 2 major oversites with the Ipad. I will likely get this myself and I am one of the cool "apple kids". Check out the video and let me know what you think.

Taurasi Bears All

This picture of Taurasi is hot! Of course, she has a great body, but more importantly. She is beautiful. I am sure this will sell a lot of magazines, (and hopefully) a lot of tickets too!!! The best thing about cover is that it finally shows professional female athletes as more than one dimensional. Hats off to ESPN and Taurasi for "bearing it all"!

Eliminating My Excuses

Always a good thing to take your own advice. Tonight, I am doing just that by elminating my excuses. About 2 years ago, I started this blog. Then after faithfully posting for a month, I gave up. I still had bright ideas and witty things to say (at least they sound witty in my head) but I had no audience. (Except for my mom, and even she was iffy). The lack of audience discouraged me. After all, where are my adoring fans? Reality check: they don't exsist or they are busy. For purpose of my sanity, I'm going to assume the second.

Anyway, two "aw ha" moments from this experience. 1. The lack of audience was just an excuse not to write. Writing, like most skills, require discipline. If you (meaning 'I') are (am) serious, you (again 'I') must be willing to do it when no one is watching. And 2, if you keep doing it (and you are good) then promote yourself (again, my own self) and the audiance will come. Afterall, I have over 900 fb friends and almost 100 followers, so maybe somebody is reading.

Total aside, best thing ever is blogging from my phone, which I am doing right now. Droid rocks!!!

No Humor in NBC's Outsourced

Comedy is the shield for all of our ills. If you are racists, sexist, ageist, homophobic, or anything else tasteless and rude., there is one way for you to get away with this behavior....BE FUNNY! Comedy allows us to all laugh at our shortcomings and those of others. Through comedy, we learn not to take each other to seriously and it can bring together people who might not normally associate. But I can not stress enough the importance of ACTUALLY being funny.

Unfortunately, the new show "Outsourced" falls in this category...ABSOLUTELY NOT FUNNY. This new NBC comedy on its face seems like it would be rich with laughs, not so much. The series starts with Tom (Ben Rappaport) returning from training to start his new job as a call center manager in Kansas City (being from here, the humor is not lost on me) only to find out that the entire center has been 'outsourced' to India. Tom is given a choice, move to India or be fired. No surprise... he is off to India. Once in India the good times (not really) begin. This show manages to offend people from India, Women, Gays, Mid-westerners, and even, the WNBA ( which is my book is the most serious offense), which would all be good if they had managed with in all of that to be funny.

The sad part is that I am really excited to see so many people of color working, but like early African American roles, Hollywood likes to introduce people at their worst. I hope there are more shows that feature Indian actors in the future, but this one sucks!!! Not sure who at NBC gave this show the green light, but they should be OUTSOURCED!!!

Mystics Reach for the Stars and Land on the Sky

This was Alana's game. There is no question that this is a team that is seeking a championship. Finally, we have a team and structure that allow Alana Beard to do what she does best, score. And score she did, as she ran away with 31 points aganist the Chicago Sky.

Washington started this game with an early lead that was slowly lost as the Mystics' post player seem incapable of getting a rebound. In fact, to Coach Julie Plank's dismay, the Mystics ended the 1st half with only 8 measly rebounds to the Sky's 21. With the Sky creating so many second and third opportunities at the basket, it is no surprise that the Mystics trailed the Sky heading into the locker room after the half. Fans, like me, worried that we would see a repeat of last nights game in Atlanta.

Well, Coach Julie had other ideas. I would hate to have been in that locker room, but whatever was said. It worked. The Mystics came out like gangbusters, scoring 52 and 21 rebounds in the second half to demolish the Sky and retain their top spot in the Eastern conference, 81-72.

While it was good to see former MD Terp Kristi Tolliver playing in a pro uniform and make a key contribution for her team scoring 13 points off the bench. I was elated to see her put down by the more senior former Terp, Crystal Langhorne, also off the bench for 14 pts, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Unfortunately, Marissa Coleman had to watch her former MD teamates from the bench while she recovers from a high ankle sprain.

In the next few days, I will have more to say about this new 11 person rooster. In the short term, I am glad to see the Mystics Rallying through.

Happy Father's Day.

Mystics Put to Sleep by the Dream

It was bound to happen sooner or later, but I will be the first to admit that I was praying for later. Tonight, the Mystics suffer there first lost this season to the Mystics 3rd String, I mean, the Atlanta Dream. Just kidding. I have to give props to fromer Mystics, and one of my favorite point guards of all time, Nikki Teasley, who lead her team to the first win ever against the Mystics. There defense was tight and all five starters shot double digits lead by former Houston Comet, Sancho Lyttle, who shot for 20 pts.

So, you like me have one question on your mind. What happened? And will it happen again tomorrow against the Chicago Sky. I wish I could weave you some intricate tale of constant back and forth, until in the last minute of the game, the Dream wrench victory away, but I can't. Instead, I will say that this team was outscored in the paint and at the line and to add insult to injury, out rebound. The downtime last week, resulted in J. Onino being dropped and Kristen Mann being resigned as star rookie Marissa Coleman is out for 4-6 weeks with an ankle sprain.

Us University of Maryland fans will have to wait on the Kristi Tolliver, Marissa Coleman Match Up that we were all waiting on. Instead, we will have to settle for wishing Kristi well , while we cheer Crystal Langhorne and the former Dukies to victory.

Safe travels from Atlanta, Mystics. Rest up and regroup for tomorrow's game.

Can We Sat UNDEFEATED!!!!!!

I don't want to get too excited to early, but.... THE MYSTICS ARE UNDEFEATED 3-0. We have the best record in the league. OH MY GOD!!!! I don't even know how to act. This is the best that we have done in the history of the franchise. This coupled with the fact that the Mystics have not won in Detroit since 2005. Damn.

Enough ranting. Let's talk basketball. This game was very evenly matched, except for one thing. The SECOND Quarter. In the first qtr, the Shock ended with a 9-0 run topped by a 3 point shoot by Alexis Hornbuckle, the 2nd year guard from Tennessee. In the 2nd qtr, we shined forcing an 18-2 run aganist the world championship Shock. The third and fourth qtr, the Mystics run neck and neck but determination, a deep bench and sheer talent win out and the Mystics win 75 to 69.

I wish I had a great photo but the win will have to be enough.

All I can say is Go Mystics!!!! Rest up then practice hard. We have the Atlanta again on the 19th in Atlanta. Let's go for win #4!!!!

I'mmmmBack

Okay, I admit it. Last season was just too depressing for me to blog about. Truth is I am not a negative person and it was all I could do just to show up at every game. Taking the next step to come home and write about the pathetic experience....I just could not do it. But the long wait is over.... I AM BACK.

As I return to blogging, I must acknowledge that the world as I knew it has changed. We have an African American President and the Mystics are #1 in the Eastern Conference with a 2-0 lead. First time in franchise history for us to start with two game win. Even crazier, the Fever are dead last in the conference. WOW. I don't know about you but I could live in this current reality for a VERY long time.

As for the home opener, there is so much I could say. I could talk about ABs amazing 27 points. I could talk about the great contest of Mystics present vs. Mystics past, but it would all be a Dream. I could talk about how great the experience is from my upgraded seats in the VIP section. All of that would be great, but I am going to discuss the young players on this team that have brought a new energy and raised the Mystics' level of competition. Lets meet the young squad.....

Introducing Lindsay Harding.....

This 2007 #1 Draft Pick and Houston native is reunited with her Duke teammates, Alana Beard and Monique Currie, to create magic. As the Mystics starting point guard, it was clear in pre-season that things had changed on the floor. 2 years into here WNBA career and she plays with the heart and mind of a vet. Her ability to read and the floor and create opportunities for her team allowed Alana to get back to her REAL position of shooting guard. The results speak for themselves.

Introducing Matee Ajavon...

#5 in 2008 Draft, Liberian born, Jersey Raised Guard, has brought that Rutgers toughness to Washington. In Coach Springer-land, if you don't have an opportunity on the court, you make one. This is a lesson Matee learned well and she brings this intensity to the Mystics. Thank God. I expect her to me a goto player that we will rely on in a clench and be confident that she will get the job done.

Indroducing Tasha Humphrey...

This Georgia born and raised center is helping to take some of the pressure off vet Chastity Melvin and Nakia Sanford, which allows both to be rotated to 4 position as needed. While I would like a little more height at center, I appreciate Tasha's ability to box out the paint and bring a sense of order to chaos. I am pretty happy with her 5 rebounds in 11 minutes against the Sun and 2 3-point shoots in the same amount of time against the Dream.

Introducing Crystal Langhorne....

Maryland's 1st contribution to the Mystics came in the form of Crystal. Her transition from college to pros was one of the few bright spots in the 2008 season. Drafted #6 in the 2008 draft, right after Matee, Crystal's aggressive defensive style has a home in the defense focused Coach Plank plan. She plays off the bench (this is likely temporary) but in an impressive 22 minutes she contributed 8 rebounds and 10 points. As she develops her drop step under the basket, I look for regular double-doubles in the future.

Finally, Marissa Coleman...

There are no words to describe how impactful Marissa Coleman has been and will be on this team. If she stays healthy, she will be an contender for Rookie of the Year. Her ball handling skills, no look passes and dishes are so sick, I could hardly stand it. At Maryland, I would watch her morph into any player we needed to get a win and it is a pleasure to have her on our team. Word of warning, watch out Mo there is a new hustler in town. And although we did not get to see her matched against Angel McCoughtry in the NCAA Championship, last night we got a taste of what it might have been. Against the Dream her 9 points came with 4 turnovers, her 16 points and 5 rebounds against the competitive Sun gives us hope of things to come. We are glad to have this MD native play at home
Hey, forgot to give you the score. Mystics 77 Dream 71. Click here for the hightlights.

Mystics Set the Sun, but Playoffs Off the Horizon

So, 31 of the most die hard Fans trooped up to CT to cheer the Mystics on to Victory. Big shout out to the crew from Amtrack and all Mystics fans, we had a great time in CT at Moehgan Arena.

If you are a true Mystics fan, then you know that we do not like to do things easy. If there is a way to take the game to the wire, then we will take it there. Sunday was no exception. The Mystics pulled this squewker out 76-72, keeping the Mystic playofff attempts alive. Unfortunately, about 3 hours later, this dream was over when the Libety beat the Sky 58-52 in down to the wire game at the Garden.

The Mystics started weak, they seem to lack the confidence that I am used to seeing from the Mystics right off the bench. In the first quarter, the Mystics were out scored by Sun almost 2 to 1 and some were concerned that the Mystics had given up. But true Mystics fans knew that we were just getting warmed up and in the second and third, the starting bench with help from Gillian and Coco, let America know how we do it in the Nation's Capital. The 2nd qtr was about being more competitive on offense and the Mystics increased their scoring to be more competitive with the Sun. But every true basketball fan knows that offense without defense is dead in the water, so coming out of the locker room after halftime, the Mystics got busy. The 3rd qtr the Mystics defense held the Sun, while offense outscored them nearly 2 to 1. In the 4th, the Sun rallied and it remained neck in neck, until the career making 3 pointer made by Monique Currie with 0.1 seconds left in the game.

So after taking a quick poll of the fans at the game, no surprise Monique Currie is the Highlight Award winner. After a rough couple of games and less game time, Mo cam through in the clinch and on ABC to boot!!!! That is what the WNBA is about.

This one is of Mo and my friend's daughter, Chanae at the All Star games. She thinks next Mo will be an unstoppable All Star and I agree.

Mystics Are Down But Not Out

Nothing is ever easy in Love or Basketball and the Mystics proved this point tonight. If the Mystics had won tonight, it would have clinched their position in the playoff. However, the fat lady has not sung and we are still in it. In order for the Mystics to retain their position in the playoffs, the following combination of things MUST happen....

1. The Mystics beat the Sun in Connecticut on Sunday; and
2. The Liberty lose one of their remaining 2 games.

So, Mystics fans, add the team to the prayer list and/or rub your lucky rabbit's foot, we will be on the edge of our seats for the weekend, while the Liberty take the Sun and Sky at Madison Square Garden.

Okay, okay I will get to tonight's game. Well, it was rough. The Liberty are a good team that played well and the refs were their sixth man, especially Camaron Inouye#13. She must have just gotten her whistle because I have never seen a ref call more one sided and imaginary calls this season. Tonight's game is a live example of why we may want to consider "instant replay" in the WNBA. Damn, I am off track, back to the game. The Mystics played well, from the beginning they played like this game meant something. For 3 of 4 quarters they matched the Liberty play for play, but a bad call in the 2nd qtr against Delisha, caused her to lose her cool, which resulted in a tech costing us 3 points, followed by missed shots by AB and Delisha. By hey, this is just one blogger's opinion. At the end, of the day, both teams needed this win and played hard to get it. The Mystics just came up short. Alright, on to Connecticut. I will be there, I hope you will too!!!!!!

BTW, I forgot the Highlight Award. Tonight is tough, because the whole team really pulled together and played hard. You know what, the highlight award goes to the fans for showing up and showing out. So in honor of fan appreciation day, I honor Us Fans!!!!!! Buy your tickets for next year and bring a friend!!!!!!!

(I left my camera, but I will add some cool fan pixs here this weekend!)

Tonight, I want to end our last home game with a few shout outs:

- To the Mystic Mayhem, thanks for the great energy and dances all summer long and tonight was the best half show entertainment this season.
- To my fellow fans in Section 112, thanks for making every home game a blast. See you next season.
- To Linda Hargrove, thanks for the chalk talks. They are really informative and lots of fun to get the inside scoop.

Mystics Put out the Sun

Mystics fans we are one step closer to playoff closer. If it one thing you learn as a Mystics fan it is that we like it down to the wire. Today's game and our playoff bid are no exceptions, we are taking it down to the wire. Tonight we set the Sun by 1 point, 65 to 64. It wasn't pretty, but it counts. And when we make the playoffs, we will be the last team named to the playoffs in the entire league.

Okay, we got a lot to talk about, so let get to it. Well, I have already done a big tribute to Nikki T, but thank God she was healthy enough to play tonight. Her ability to call play and switch plays as the game presents itself helped to focus the team and lead us to victory. (Her 6 rebounds didn't hurt, either :) Up against Dydek in the paint, the reverse post play was genius. This play switched the post players to the top of the key forcing Dydek to defend outside the paint. This provided several opportunities for AB to drive to the basket, earning her an amazing 28 points. In the first half, Delisha was taken out with a nasty uncalled foul by Lindsey Whalen which required her to receive stitches and be out most of the game. Hold your head up Delisha. We will need you next game.

Finally, tonight's highlight award goes to a the quintessential sixth man, Coco Miller. Coco has held this role on this Mystics for the last 3 years, but with Monique Currie playing like shit, Section 112 thinks Coco may be ready for the starting line up. While Coco posted decent numbers, shooting 6 of 7 for 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. The big reason for the award is her timing. Coco made shots in the cliches and rebounds when it counted. A special appreciation to Coco for the amazing offensive rebound with 30 seconds left that prevented Sun possession for another 21 seconds, which helped hold the slim 65-64 victory for the Mystics.

Coco congratulations for your 500th rebound during the Seattle game. I WAS THERE!!!!! GO COCO!!!!

Mystics Fight Hard But Monarchs Rise in OT

The Mystics continue to fight hard. And, I will continue to cheer hard. It is the least I can do.

So, we lost 82-86 to the Monarchs in overtime, but we held our on. This lost combined with the Liberty's win over the Shock, leave the Mystics only a half game ahead of Liberty in 4th place. So the next three games are crucial.

In the meantime, I have to give in up to Alana Beard. Not just for the 25 points, 3 assist, 3 steals and 3 rebounds but for the intense 45 minutes worth of play she brought to the court. With Nikki T out of commission with a knee injury, the vet players have had to step up. Alana and Delisha have done it. AB and Delisha, have led this team all season and now is no exception. Well, I have done a tribute to Delisha, she is one of my favorite players and the winner of many highlight awards, but today I am going to honor, AB.

Storm Rain on Mystics Parade

This was not a good day for the Mystics. The Storm rained on our winning streak to clinch their Western Conference bid for the 4th place conference playoffs. Congrats to them , but our bid continues on Mystics fall to the Storm 68-91, down 23 points (our worst loss all season.)

First, as a fan, let me say that going from the Staples Center to the Key Arena, was a bit of a let down. Although, I will admit that the smaller venue was more conducive to WBNA basketball, which draws smaller crowds than the NBA. (Damn shame, one more area Women get the shaft.) Second, let me give a big shout our to my cousin, Donna (my mom's 1st cousin, who like her is ready for the season to end so I will blog about something besides basketball) and close family friend, Kathy and her daughters, Gabby and Tamara. Thanks for hanging out with me in Seattle.

Well like I have said about many Mystics win, sometimes it just comes down to who wants it more and brings that passion. Tonight, the team with the passion was the Storm. Sure, I could complain about how Nikki T's reoccuring knee injury had her on the bench most of the game, or how Delisha fouled out of the game, but at the end of the day. The team that showed up in LA was not the same team that showed up in Seattle. I should know, I was there!!!!!

One thing I can say, the Seattle game was a history making night. Hear are some of the highlights: (This ones for my Republican friends, Yes sadly I am still talking to them.)

The Good: AB joins the 2000 point club and Coco gets her 500th rebound. The Bad: Another Storm player makes history playing us, Betty Lenox scores career high 34 points (last time it was Lauren Jackson for 47 points.) The Ugly: Mystics suffer their worst loss all season crashing an embarrasing 23 point deafeat. Damn!!!

Live From The Staples Center......

When you do LA....the only way to do it is big. So, when I realized I would be in LA on business during the Mystics v. Sparks game, I know floor seating was the only way to go. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect. I knew I was in the home of the Lakers, seating in seats that celebs clamoured for during their season, but I was not prepared for how spectacular the Staples Center is as a sports venue. As a fan, I felt I had won a sports fantasy prize.

Compared to the Staples Center, the Verizon Center is like playing in the hood. In the Verizon Center, the courtside seats are like racked folding chairs; in the Staple Center, the courtside seats are leather and plush. In the Verzon Center, the players enjoy the same racked folding chairs that the fans have to deal with, in the Staple Center, the have a leather bench with Sparks name blazed across and wrapped in the team colors. In the Verizon Center, our scoreboard in one step above analog with 4 sides; in the Staples Center the scoreboard is 8 sides of full digital color. I guess you get the point. Now for the game.

Thank you , thank you, thank you Mystics. If being in the Staples Center is a great fan experiences, winning in the Staples Center is the ultimate fan experience. Big thank you to the staff and Sparks fans for not killing me as I loudly cheered by team on to victory. LETS GO MYSTICS!!!!!!!!!

It was a great game and like the Stars game, the Mystics just brought more heart to the game. It was weird seeing Murial Page and Temecka Johnson play for the Sparks, but I bet Sparks fans though it was weird to see Delisha and Nikki T play for us. Well, whatever, we won 80-75.

Now, on to Seattle. I pray we can repeat this win in the Key Center. Everyone meditate on shutting down Lauren Jackson. Peace.

Mystics Shot Past Stars

This was a game of who wanted it more. The answer, the Mystics. We are working to get in the playoffs, while the Stars have already cinched their playoff spot. Passion can be just as important as skill. When Nikki T was out in the 1st Qtr, I worried that we might lack the passion to get the win. But the Mystics did not disappoint. And we move 1 more game closer to the playoffs. Yeah!!!!

Since I wasn't at the game,I just want to pay a little tribute to Nikki Teasley. Some fans have felt that Nikki was nearing the end of her career and have noticed her limited play and decrease in points scored per game. But Nikki is a true leader on the team. She had a particularly tough off season and has battled knee and arm injuries that have left her in constant pain. But she plays, leads and mentors her team. In her own words,
"It's mind over matter, man," Teasley said. "And at this point in time, I have to do my job, and my job is to come out here and play hard and win ballgames, no matter the circumstances."

Mystics Soar past Sky

We needed this win. Everything rested on it.

  • we needed the Sky to lose
  • we needed a win
  • we needed to go on the road with aspiration to make playoffs
  • it is the last home game for almost a week.

Games like this require leadership, plain and simple. thank god for Delisha, Nikki T and AB. Experience, talent and great teamwork is what wins games for the Mystics. First, we are a shooting team. To win, we must shoot more than 40% from the floor, tonight we shot 45.8%. We need to rebound consistently, tonight we rebounded 34 times. Finally, this is a team sport. Sure Alana Beard averages 18 pts a game but for us to win we need at least 2 other starters to be in double digits. Well, tonight the sun, moon and Sky lined up to deliver a win for the Mystics.

Hey no denying that this was a stellar game for D-Nasty. She gets the Highlight Award. 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. Plus, she played for 40 solid minutes. Delisha you did your thing. You go girl!!!
